VLUCHTKERK

In 2013 a group of about hundred asylum seekers stay temporarily in ‘De Vluchtkerk’ in Amsterdam. To gain attention for their hopeless situation Nelleke Koop and Eline van Diggelen joined forces and made a website. Counting down to the day the asylum seekers will find themselves on the streets again, the website shows each day a new portrait from March 21- March 31, 2013.

The inhabitants of the Vluchtkerk have no home. And they have no prospect of a house. But how does their house look like in their dream? Side by side, the portraits provide a moving insight into the basic needs of every human being.
