IDFA-Mediafund Award for best filmscenario at the IDFA Mediafund Workshop 2011

At the IDFA (International Documentary Festival Amsterdam) 2011 Nelleke wins the IDFA-Mediafund Award! After writing and researching for a year at the IDFA Mediafund Workshop, this award makes it possible to produce the documentary.
This film with the working title ‘Floating Bodies’ is currently being made with Selfmade Films in co-production with broadcaster HUMAN.

Nelleke Koop (1977) works as a freelance documentary filmmaker in Amsterdam, since graduating from the Film Academy (2009).
Previously she studied at the Art Academy in Kampen, the Frank Mohr Institute in Groningen and Hunter College in New York.

In 2010 Nelleke traveled aboard Navy frigate Hr Ms Tromp to the coast of Somalia. During Mission Atalanta she films a documentary on life and work in the Navy. This seven-part documentary can be seen on www.middenindemarine.nl
At the ‘Keying into the Brain’ festival this documentary wins the ‘Gouden Reiger’ award, for best commissioned film 2010.
